Line Dance with CBD

We are playing a convention gig this week and have been asked to do a number of line dances.  So we have been studying up on the fine art of line dancing.

We already do the Cupid Shuffle, which seems to be the current favorite for line dancers.  And Jeff and I played for country line dancing crowds back in Montana quite often.  In fact, once we were hired as the backup band for Charlie Nagatani, the big country music star and club owner from Japan, when he made a tour stop at a local Montana dude ranch.  A couple of busloads of Japanese country music fans came with him, dressed to the nines in their fanciest hats and boots, and you should have seen them line dance!  They went from our local dude ranch in the middle of nowhere Montana straight to the Grand Ole Opry for Charlie’s 16th appearance there.

Anyway, I have learned that there are a bunch of popular line dances here in the Carolinas, including the Carolina Stroll, the Hully Gully, and the Alley Cat.  And we will of course be doing the obligatory Electric Slide (boogie woogie woogie!)

Fortunately, Jenny is an excellent line dancer.  Once when she was in high school we went to a big Mexican festival in Kansas, and the band on the main stage was playing the Macarena.  Jenny jumped right out in front and proceeded to teach the mostly Mexican crowd how to do the Macarena dance.  What a hoot!
