We love America and really look forward to joining fellow patriots to celebrate our nation’s birthday on July 4. This year we are playing the Promenade on Providence in Charlotte on the Fourth.
Independence Day is also a good chance to dig some great America-themed songs out of our bag and share them with our friends. These are songs you don’t hear often these days – some of our favorite “America” songs are:
R.O.C.K. in the USA (John Mellencamp)
Livin’ in America (James Brown)
American Girl (Tom Petty)
My Baby is American Made (Oak Ridge Boys)
Mother Freedom (Bread)
We’re An American Band (Grand Funk Railroad)
American Woman (Lenny Kravitz)
American Pie (Don McLean)
God Bless the USA (Lee Greenwood)

We like to do a rocked-up version of America the Beautiful. And many songs on our set lists have references to the Fourth of July, like “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” by Brooks and Dunn, “Born on the Bayou” by Creedence Clearwater Revival, and “Walkin’ the Dog” by Aerosmith.
From Caution! Blind Driver to every red-blooded American boy and girl, we wish you a happy and blessed Independence Day!
